Chairman, Adelmo "Del" Archuleta

Del ArchuletaMolzen Corbin’s Chairman of the Board, Adelmo “Del” Archuleta, is a native of New Mexico who has devoted his life to improving the lives of New Mexicans not only through his professional endeavors, but by also giving back through extensive community and public service. Today, Del continues to lead Molzen Corbin with innovative vision, deliberate leadership, and purposeful direction, and continues to dedicate himself to public service – with a profound passion and commitment to improving the quality of, and opportunities in, education.

Born in Clayton, NM, Del graduated from New Mexico State University (NMSU) with a master’s degree in civil (environmental) engineering in 1975. Upon graduation, Del joined Molzen Corbin and within 10 years, rose through the ranks to become chief executive officer and majority stockholder, and had gained an enviable reputation as an outstanding expert in water resources engineering – designing award-winning projects that directly improved the quality of life in communities throughout New Mexico and the Southwest.

He has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including repeatedly named one of “New Mexico’s Most Influential People” by New Mexico Business Journal and one of the “100 Power Brokers” by New Mexico Business Weekly Magazine. Under his management, Molzen Corbin has been consecutively ranked over the past two decades as one of the “500 Largest Hispanic-Owned Companies” by Hispanic Business Magazine. Del also has been recognized by his peers, receiving the “National Community Service Award” from the American Consulting Engineers Council and “Ingeniero Veterano de Nuevo Mejico” Award from the New Mexico Society of Professional Engineers. From NMSU, he received the “Mike Watts Civil Engineering Alumni Award” and the Emeritus Faculty Distinguished Alumni Award; was inducted into the Honorary Academy of Civil, Agricultural, and Geological Engineering; and was named “Distinguished Alumni for the College of Engineering.” In 2010, he was presented with an Honorary Doctorate from NMSU.

Intensely active in the community, Del has served in leadership positions for numerous boards, including Public Service Company of New Mexico, New Mexico Mutual, United Way of Central New Mexico, Explora! Science Center and Children’s Museum, New Mexico State University, and Presbyterian Healthcare Services.  Del’s dedication to public service was recognized in 2003, when he received the prestigious “Governor’s New Mexico Distinguished Public Service Award.”  In 2010, he received the “Distinguished Citizen Award” by the Great Southwest Council of the National Eagle Scout Association. 

Del currently serves on the New Mexico State Board of Finance, Gas Company of New Mexico, the Bank of Albuquerque, New Mexico First and the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.
