As part of our on-call contract, NMSU tasked Molzen Corbin with designing the replacement of the natural turf on the Aggie Memorial Football Stadium with a synthetic turf. Challenges on this project included the drainage for the site, as well as the perimeter connections or terminus where the synthetic turf meets existing structures. Molzen Corbin worked closely with NMSU on the layout of the field and all components of the drainage system. We designed a sidewalk around the field that provided multiple uses: sidewalk for continuity between steps, a location to place trench drains, and a point to attach the turf that is uniform and continuous.
