Molzen Corbin designed and provided construction phase services for a 1 Megawatt solar photovoltaic system in the long-term parking lot at the Albuquerque International Sunport. We leveraged federal funding to develop the system installed on top of carports mounted on a canopy system specially designed to match the existing structures at the Airport. The project consisted of over 4,000 PV panels and two 500kW inverters and consisted of energy-efficient LED lighting designed to save energy and effectively maximize the lighting distribution characteristics. While the project presented numerous challenges, the Molzen Corbin team prevailed with innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective design solutions that provided multi-level benefits and positive impacts for Sunport and the City overall.
