Community pride and leadership commitment spurred the revitalization of Belén’s Becker Street, which updated everything from benches and street lamps, to pedestrian enhancements, to utilities and drainage. Known as the Heart of Belén, Becker Street houses an art studio, the library, courts, and multiple small businesses. Molzen Corbin provided community involvement, architectural, engineering, and planning services to help the City create appealing, accessible public spaces that would reinstate Becker Street as a cultural and commercial hub. Attractive, integrated furnishings–benches, lamps, illuminated pilasters, and street signage–were used to promote the historic architecture, while roadway and surface drainage improvements strengthened the infrastructure.
