This new facility replaced an existing airport-only facility housed in a make-shift garage. It now serves both the Airport and the County at large. It is approximately 8,000 square-feet with a watch tower. The facility includes 2 double length apparatus bays for firefighting and emergency- response vehicles, apparatus bay support, administrative areas, and residential areas (including 4 dorms, dayroom, kitchen, dining/training, exercise room, outdoor porch and activity area, and bathrooms). The layout is both compact to fit the budget and to align with the pending expansion of the terminal. The facility functions efficiently in a durable, comfortable, and healthy environment.
