Designed and constructed to harmonize with the context of its neighboring sites, the 6,500-square-foot Tijeras Senior Center is nestled into a hillside of this mountain community. The Center includes a commercial kitchen equipped for meal preparation and service, a dining room that seats 75 people, and restrooms. Additional amenities include a fitness room with storage, showers, and lockers; an arts and crafts studio; a multi-media room; a computer center; a games and billiards room; and an administration area. Upon completion of the original facility, Molzen Corbin has continued to work with the Village to plan, fund, and design upgrades to the Senior Center. Every phase supports nutrition, exercise, and socialization by providing and enhancing environments that encourage senior activity both indoor and outdoor.
