The UNM McKinnon Family Tennis center consists of six new competition-caliber courts. These courts are sunken into an existing depression and edged on three sides with spectator spaces and lighting for night events. This project was phased to capture available funding, with the first phase including a new entry plaza to the courts and the adjacent sports complex, which also includes softball and baseball fields. The project was integrated with the adjacent parking lot, storm sewer system, hammer throw installation, new signature fencing for the entire complex, and repurposing of donated lights. Future expansion of the tennis facility will include six more competition courts and a clubhouse.
